ART CLUB
The Art club was organized to allow students to spend time with other students who have an interest in the Visual Arts.
Activities include:
- Meeting with former BHS art alumni who share their portfolios, and art professions
- Homecoming Dance Banner - Design and Painting
- A "make & take" workshop Fundraiser
- Pumpkin decorating contest - Faculty auction (money to HHH)
- Community service projects
- Edible Art contest
- Brookwood "Duct Tape Extravaganza" Show
- Art club t-shirt design
- Youth Art Month activity
- Preparations for the spring BHS Art Show
Eligibility:
Open to all students whether or not they take art classes. Students become members by signing up in the fall with one of the faculty sponsors, or by paying online at mealpayplus.com.
Dues are $10.00 per year.
Meets:
1st Tuesday of the month in B-17.
Time Commitment:
1 hour per month, August - May.

NAHS
Participation in NAHS is a mark of accomplishment in the school and community and is well recognized by institutions when students apply for entry into colleges or universities. This program recognizes and encourages student excellence in art.
Eligibility:
Students must have completed at least one art class and have a minimum art average of B. Dues are $10.00 per year.
2010-2011
August
23- Induction Meeting (commons) 7pm - 8:30pm. Meet Brookwood Visual Art alumni,
welcome new NAHS members and Art Club members.
September
6 - NAHS and Art Club Meeting: Duct Tape Fashion Show.
Create a "One of a Kind" fashion accessory or article of clothing at home and bring the
completed work to the meeting for judging. Prizes will be awarded for the best individual and
best group work. No more than three participants per group.
20 - NAHS: Service Project: Introduction to service project.
October
4- NAHS and Art Club: Pumpkin Decorating
Decorate, sculpt, alter a pumpkin for the annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Create your
work at home and bring the completed project to the meeting for judging. Participants may
work as an individual or as a group. Awards will be provided for the best individual and best
group. No more than three participants per group.

1- NAHS and Art Club: T-Shirt Decorating. Instructions TBA.
15 - NAHS: Service Project
December
6 - NAHS and Art Club: Edible Art Contest
Design and Create a one of a kind edible work of art at home and bring the completed piece
to the meeting for juding and eating!!! Awards will be provided for best individual and best
group project. Please, no more than 3 participants per group. Please be willing to share your
wonderful creation with others.
January
10 - NAHS and Art Club: Make a Wish Jewelry
Come prepared to have fun and make jewelry which will be sold to generate funds for local
charity.
24 - NAHS: Service Project
February
7 - NAHS and Art Club: I Heart Art. Instructions TBA

6 - NAHS and Art Club: Youth Art Month Activity: Flower Power
21 - NAHS: Service Project. *(Senior Honor Cords: $12 and hours DUE)
